Jane Symmes is an acclaimed songwriter, accomplished multi-instrumentalist, and captivating performer from San Francisco who has garnered recognition for her notable contributions to Folk and Americana music. A classically trained violinist with a musical mastery, Jane effortlessly navigates between instruments, weaving her artistry on the violin, guitar, and piano.

Jane truly shines in her delicate use of strings and harmonies, which serve as the canvas upon which she paints vivid narratives. Jane’s musical background includes playing violin in chamber groups and performing bluegrass with her family from a young age. Her father with roots in jazz started writing folk music and enrolling the family in bluegrass legend Tim O’Brien’s fiddle camps. Taking their show on the road—Mom, Dad and Jane’s two sisters—they combined their strings and harmonies to become a festival favorite as the Symmes Family Band. Jane is forever grateful for her upbringing and the way it formed her love of music.
